Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Sesame tofu was tasty , wasn't as crunchy as it could have been but very flavorful and affordable. Veggies were nice and crisp and seasoned well.

This one star is for their lunch buffet. I was quite surprised to see the price has gone up so much over the last couple of years. It's always been a meh place for lunch if you happen to crave for Chinese. Bur today, for $9, all I got was leftovers. Food: Not single one of the dishes they served was freshly made. The spring roll tasted very sour, the filling looking completely gray. Green beans were a mix of soggy ochre yellow leftovers and newly fried beans. I always like sesame noodles, but their just looked rotten ors something. Don't even get me started on the meats, they tasted absolutely horrendous: greasy and stale. Ugh... who wants furry chicken wings? Service: For the most part, all three waitresses were hanging out behind a blind in the back, you can see them sitting there and chat and completely oblivious to+ the customers. It was a joke. Disappointed, I will never be back.

Made an account on Yelp just to clarify. This places was by no means great. The buffet was small waitress took awhile and the food was blan. The only thing good was the jello and fortune cookies.

You want to eat? Imagine the hostess seats you and as you're going to make a decision the manager(?) comes and tells you you have to leave because they are closing and that they shouldn't have sat you in the first place. Well, if you don't want to experience that then don't try to eat here. The one star is for the manager(?) offering to allow us to order takeout.

Place was ok. Food was tasty, the service was ok. It wasn't the best but not the worst. Probably good when you're nice and hung over!!! We had the orange chicken, it was very good. We also had the low mein, my daughter loved it. I thought it tasted a little like burned pan, but I would go there again for my greasy Chinese food fix!

The only good food spot we went to in all of Santa Fe! Yay, highly recommend! Little salty but nicely priced and a good eat!

My mom and aunt really liked the food here! They thought the soup and noodle was decent but the veggies dish was kind of expensive. Oh they are Chinese so you should trust them.

Can't rate the food here because we couldn't get in. We were looking forward to sampling their food--but no one was seating us (or the two couples in front of us in line). It's not like they were busy: the restaurant was nearly empty. Three couples sat looking semi-hopeless, waiting for take-out. A waiter approached one to tell them "Ten more minutes," at which point they left, saying "We've already waited a half hour." We went across the hall and had pizza at El Centro instead. Excellent choice.

Been eating here almost since they opened back in the early 90's. I have some personal favorites like the egg foo young, the chefs special soup, the combination fried rice and virtually the entire poultry section of the menu. The seafood dishes are OK but remember that you are almost 1,000 miles from the ocean. There is enough well prepared variety that we can happily eat here at least once a week and enjoy it every time. This is a family operated business and they have done well because they are paying attention to details. We always feel welcome. The lunch buffet has always been excellent, but I recommend showing up by noon to have the best and freshest choices although they do replenish as needed. If you are there mid-day and don't want the buffet, let them know when you are seated. They have a vigorous carry-out business in the evenings and will deliver if needed. The tables are appropriately dressed for the time of day with placemats for lunch and table cloths for dinner. A pot of decent hot tea is always instantly available. The service is accurate and timely and the wait staff knows the menu very well. Parking is usually easy, but lunchtime may be a bit crowded.

I imagine two ladies that run the show, scurrying around a cluttered kitchen, sharing gossip on the Chinese Santa Fe community over a massive pot of simmering sweet and sour chicken. It has become, quite possibly, the best, if not certainly the most endearing, Chinese dive in Santa Fe--which, mind you, isn't saying much, but still. In terms of cheapness, you get a massive bang for your buck and if you get the dinner special (you should get the dinner special) you get your courses delivered to you in stages. First the egg drop soup, the spring rolls follow, then a plate of heaping, double-ice-cream-scoop size portions erupts before your very eyes. The chicken: mysterious. The sauce: abundant. The vegetables: curiously fluorescent. You will leave here satisfied. Weighing as much, if not more, as Genghis Khan himself.

Definitely the best chinese food I've had since moving to New Mexico. The chicken is wonderful. I'm a huge fan of the crispy ginger chicken, it's just the right amount of crunchy with a flavorful sauce. Everything is well priced and it's enough food for me to leave full with leftovers. To me, this is worth the trip to Santa Fe in itself. While the service is a little lacking, the taste of the food is worth the sometimes longer wait.

Buffet was at room temperature and well picked over by 1:15 on a Monday. It appeared that those who ordered from the menu fared better. Staff was pleasant.

Don't be put off by the odd location and silly decor. Yin-Yang is the best Chinese restaurant in town (although there's really not much competition). You can almost always find a seat and take-out is lightning fast. It's definitely more Americanized Chinese, but it's always fresh, flavorful, and the dishes come with a wonderful variety of vegetables (none of that half-cooked broccoli crap). Greasiness depends on the dish, but only adds to its deliciousness. And the vegetarian options are never disappointing! I recommend the Sesame Tofu (it's always crispy) and the Hot and Sour soup. (I really need to go here more often.)

I actually really like this place. Some of the plates, sesame tofu, and duck to name a few, are fabulous. The location is not bad if you find yourself around the downtown area, and the decor is not bad either. The only thing I think could use a touch is the service. My wife and I went in there during the buffet time. I wanted the buffet but my wife wanted something different from the menu. Once we sat down the waiter took our drink order and told us to "go ahead" as he pointed to the buffet area and didnt return until he brought the check. After waiting about ten minutes my wife's hunger gave in and she got the buffet. So food is great and service could use work.

The food was meh. Staff was very friendly. Just such bland food, drowning in a tub full of sauce. I guess it could be worse and if you're craving some Chinese food or it is Christmas or something why not? Otherwise, not worth the effort. And by effort I mean they don't deliver and I'm a mile away. What kind of Chinese food doesn't deliver? I did like the packaged almond cookie accompanying th fortune cookies though. Nice touch. Now work on making good food...

5 stars for chinese food in regards to my options in Santa Fe. Yin Yang is damn fine Americanized Chinese food. It's open on Sunday, Christmas, you name it. They have good vegetarian options and there is never a wait. Centrally located in the Design Center whose parking can suck, but thankfully there isn't a lot of traffic through the Design Center. My favorite here is the Orange Shrimp and the Sesame Tofu. Quick with to-go orders too.

We found Yin Yang while driving in the area trying to decide what to eat for dinner. We noticed there were several customers, so thought that meant a good sign! We weren't disappointed! The food was excellent and prices were very reasonable. While I placed my order with the menu # along with my selection of sweet & sour chicken, I received a plate of S & S chicken instead of a smaller combo plate. When I pointed out the mistake to the waitress she says "I don't know the number" and she only heard my selection. She made an adjustment in the bill and everything was fine. She was actually very funny! The food wasn't greasy and everything seemed to be very fresh. My only negative "comment" would be was one of the wait staff needed to refill the soy sauce bottles (we ate their on a Sun evening around 7:30 and they closed at 9:00). Instead of asking if she could take it, she just reached over and removed the bottle. She did this with every table and then about 10 minutes later returned the bottles. While this was a very minor thing, thought she would have asked or waited until we were finished. If we lived in the area, we would definitely go back!

Off the beaten path. Great Chinese dining! Excellent service and food. Highly recommend.

Yin Yang offers a Chinese buffet, but be careful what you get. I tried the sweet and sour pork and it was nothing but gristle coated and deep fried and left to sit in sweet and sour sauce. A terrible experience. The staff seemed nice enough, but you just can't get past the food.

I had a lunch special here - pork and garlic sauce. yin yang does a good job here. i look forward to another visit.

This is the best Chinese in Santa fe all the menus is wonderful. I am sure that any bad reviews on this place are from people who surely ate from the buffet (not that the buffet is bad but come on people it's a buffet what do you expect?) the vegetarian dishes are incredible. I recommend the general Taos tofu. Am not a tofu fan but that dish is incredible!

Probably my favorite chinese food restaurant in Santa Fe, especially if you show up and nobody else is there. When the restaurant is full the sound can be a little bit unnerving if you are there with people who are hard of hearing. The servers and waitstaff are friendly and if you go there repeatedly, they'll even crack jokes with the patrons.
(4)Bill E.
Well, it didn't give me food poisoning but it was really pretty bad. Just below average chinese food. Won't return.

Absolutely Great Food! I will be back, again and again!

This reasonably priced restaurant has potential if the service were not so awful. If the server waited to hear "we'd like this spicy" or any question at all, perhaps the food would have reason above just ordinary. We went because it is open n Christmas day and finding food in Santa Fe for less then a mortgage payment on Christmas Day is near to impossible. Yin Yang has nice decor (and I really wanted to buy one of the beautiful T-shirts - lavender with a beautiful symbol). But our dishes (the ones it turned out they actually had - 20 minutes after ordering we were told they had no rice noodles) were thrown at us, our drinks came after five separate pleas, and then we were entirely forgotten. We could easily have walked out without paying since we had become invisible. I have noticed that many restaurants in Santa Fe seem to be startled that customers arrive, as if filling the tables hadn't been part of the plan.
